About

I am an assistant professor in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP). I joined the institute in September, 2019.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Dept. of Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK); I was hosted by Sidharth Jaggi there. I got my Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay); I worked with Bikash Kumar Dey, Sibi Raj B. Pillai and Vinod M. Prabhakaran. I got my B. Engg. degree from Goa University and my M. Tech. from IIT Bombay. I spent some time in the industry working at Cisco Systems Inc..

My general research interests span the broad areas of communications and signal processing; my specific current interests are in wireless communications, information and coding theory, information-theoretic secrecy, and signal processing for communication and control.

Along with my good friend Shashank Vatedka, I run the Theory Matters seminar series in the wide area of EECS. If you are interested in suggesting a speaker/giving a talk, feel free to write to me.
